[ aws . waf-regional ]
Note
This is AWS WAF Classic Regional documentation. For more information, see AWS WAF Classic in the developer guide.
For the latest version of AWS WAF , use the AWS WAFV2 API and see the AWS WAF Developer Guide . With the latest version, AWS WAF has a single set of endpoints for regional and global use.
Associates a web ACL with a resource, either an application load balancer or Amazon API Gateway stage.
See also: AWS API Documentation
See ‘aws help’ for descriptions of global parameters.
associate-web-acl
--web-acl-id <value>
--resource-arn <value>
[--cli-input-json | --cli-input-yaml]
[--generate-cli-skeleton <value>]
[--cli-auto-prompt <value>]
--web-acl-id
(string)
A unique identifier (ID) for the web ACL.
--resource-arn
(string)
The ARN (Amazon Resource Name) of the resource to be protected, either an application load balancer or Amazon API Gateway stage.
The ARN should be in one of the following formats:
--cli-input-json
| --cli-input-yaml
(string)
Reads arguments from the JSON string provided. The JSON string follows the format provided by --generate-cli-skeleton
. If other arguments are provided on the command line, those values will override the JSON-provided values. It is not possible to pass arbitrary binary values using a JSON-provided value as the string will be taken literally. This may not be specified along with --cli-input-yaml
.
--generate-cli-skeleton
(string)
Prints a JSON skeleton to standard output without sending an API request. If provided with no value or the value input
, prints a sample input JSON that can be used as an argument for --cli-input-json
. Similarly, if provided yaml-input
it will print a sample input YAML that can be used with --cli-input-yaml
. If provided with the value output
, it validates the command inputs and returns a sample output JSON for that command.
--cli-auto-prompt
(boolean)
Automatically prompt for CLI input parameters.
See ‘aws help’ for descriptions of global parameters.
To associate a web ACL with a resource
The following associate-web-acl
command associates a web ACL, specified by the web-acl-id, with a resource, specified by the resource-arn. The resource ARN can refer to either a application load balancer or an API Gateway:
aws waf-regional associate-web-acl \
--web-acl-id a123fae4-b567-8e90-1234-5ab67ac8ca90 \
--resource-arn 12cs345-67cd-890b-1cd2-c3a4567d89f1
For more information, see Working with Web ACLs in the AWS WAF Developer Guide.
