Adds or modifies tags for the specified pipeline.

--pipeline-id
(string)
The ID of the pipeline.
--tags
(list)
The tags to add, as key/value pairs.
(structure)
Tags are key/value pairs defined by a user and associated with a pipeline to control access. AWS Data Pipeline allows you to associate ten tags per pipeline. For more information, see Controlling User Access to Pipelines in the AWS Data Pipeline Developer Guide .
key -> (string)
The key name of a tag defined by a user. For more information, see Controlling User Access to Pipelines in the AWS Data Pipeline Developer Guide .
value -> (string)
The optional value portion of a tag defined by a user. For more information, see Controlling User Access to Pipelines in the AWS Data Pipeline Developer Guide .

--cli-input-json
| --cli-input-yaml
(string)
Reads arguments from the JSON string provided. The JSON string follows the format provided by --generate-cli-skeleton
. If other arguments are provided on the command line, those values will override the JSON-provided values. It is not possible to pass arbitrary binary values using a JSON-provided value as the string will be taken literally. This may not be specified along with --cli-input-yaml
.
--generate-cli-skeleton
(string)
Prints a JSON skeleton to standard output without sending an API request. If provided with no value or the value input
, prints a sample input JSON that can be used as an argument for --cli-input-json
. Similarly, if provided yaml-input
it will print a sample input YAML that can be used with --cli-input-yaml
. If provided with the value output
, it validates the command inputs and returns a sample output JSON for that command.

To add a tag to a pipeline
This example adds the specified tag to the specified pipeline:
aws datapipeline add-tags --pipeline-id df-00627471SOVYZEXAMPLE --tags key=environment,value=production key=owner,value=sales
To view the tags, use the describe-pipelines command. For example, the tags added in the example command appear as follows in the output for describe-pipelines:
