Creates a path to analyze for reachability.
Reachability Analyzer enables you to analyze and debug network reachability between two resources in your virtual private cloud (VPC). For more information, see What is Reachability Analyzer .

--source-ip
(string)
The IP address of the Amazon Web Services resource that is the source of the path.
--destination-ip
(string)
The IP address of the Amazon Web Services resource that is the destination of the path.
--source
(string)
The Amazon Web Services resource that is the source of the path.
--destination
(string)
The Amazon Web Services resource that is the destination of the path.
--protocol
(string)
The protocol.
Possible values:
tcp
udp
--destination-port
(integer)
The destination port.
--tag-specifications
(list)
The tags to add to the path.
(structure)
The tags to apply to a resource when the resource is being created.
ResourceType -> (string)
The type of resource to tag on creation.
Tags -> (list)
The tags to apply to the resource.
(structure)
Describes a tag.
Key -> (string)
The key of the tag.
Constraints: Tag keys are case-sensitive and accept a maximum of 127 Unicode characters. May not begin with
aws:
.Value -> (string)
The value of the tag.
Constraints: Tag values are case-sensitive and accept a maximum of 255 Unicode characters.
Shorthand Syntax:
ResourceType=string,Tags=[{Key=string,Value=string},{Key=string,Value=string}] ...
JSON Syntax:

--dry-run
| --no-dry-run
(boolean)
Checks whether you have the required permissions for the action, without actually making the request, and provides an error response. If you have the required permissions, the error response is
DryRunOperation
. Otherwise, it isUnauthorizedOperation
.
--client-token
(string)
Unique, case-sensitive identifier that you provide to ensure the idempotency of the request. For more information, see How to ensure idempotency .
--cli-input-json
| --cli-input-yaml
(string)
Reads arguments from the JSON string provided. The JSON string follows the format provided by --generate-cli-skeleton
. If other arguments are provided on the command line, those values will override the JSON-provided values. It is not possible to pass arbitrary binary values using a JSON-provided value as the string will be taken literally. This may not be specified along with --cli-input-yaml
.
--generate-cli-skeleton
(string)
Prints a JSON skeleton to standard output without sending an API request. If provided with no value or the value input
, prints a sample input JSON that can be used as an argument for --cli-input-json
. Similarly, if provided yaml-input
it will print a sample input YAML that can be used with --cli-input-yaml
. If provided with the value output
, it validates the command inputs and returns a sample output JSON for that command.
See ‘aws help’ for descriptions of global parameters.
To create a path
The following create-network-insights-path
example creates a path. The source is the specified internet gateway and the destination is the specified EC2 instance. To determine whether the destination is reachable using the specified protocol and port, analyze the path using the start-network-insights-analysis
command.
aws ec2 create-network-insights-path \
--source igw-0797cccdc9d73b0e5 \
--destination i-0495d385ad28331c7 \
--destination-port 22 \
--protocol TCP
Output:
{
"NetworkInsightsPaths": {
"NetworkInsightsPathId": "nip-0b26f224f1d131fa8",
"NetworkInsightsPathArn": "arn:aws:ec2:us-east-1:123456789012:network-insights-path/nip-0b26f224f1d131fa8",
"CreatedDate": "2021-01-20T22:43:46.933Z",
"Source": "igw-0797cccdc9d73b0e5",
"Destination": "i-0495d385ad28331c7",
"Protocol": "tcp"

}
