start-db-instance-automated-backups-replication
--source-db-instance-arn <value>
[--backup-retention-period <value>]
[--kms-key-id <value>]
[--pre-signed-url <value>]
[--source-region <value>]
[--cli-input-json | --cli-input-yaml]
[--generate-cli-skeleton <value>]
--source-db-instance-arn
(string)
The Amazon Resource Name (ARN) of the source DB instance for the replicated automated backups, for example,
arn:aws:rds:us-west-2:123456789012:db:mydatabase
.
--backup-retention-period
(integer)
The retention period for the replicated automated backups.
--kms-key-id
(string)
The Amazon Web Services KMS key identifier for encryption of the replicated automated backups. The KMS key ID is the Amazon Resource Name (ARN) for the KMS encryption key in the destination Amazon Web Services Region, for example,
arn:aws:kms:us-east-1:123456789012:key/AKIAIOSFODNN7EXAMPLE
.
--pre-signed-url
(string)
A URL that contains a Signature Version 4 signed request for the StartDBInstanceAutomatedBackupsReplication action to be called in the Amazon Web Services Region of the source DB instance. The presigned URL must be a valid request for the StartDBInstanceAutomatedBackupsReplication API action that can be executed in the Amazon Web Services Region that contains the source DB instance.
--source-region
(string)
The ID of the region that contains the source for the db instance.
--cli-input-json
| --cli-input-yaml
(string)
Reads arguments from the JSON string provided. The JSON string follows the format provided by --generate-cli-skeleton
. If other arguments are provided on the command line, those values will override the JSON-provided values. It is not possible to pass arbitrary binary values using a JSON-provided value as the string will be taken literally. This may not be specified along with --cli-input-yaml
.
--generate-cli-skeleton
(string)
Prints a JSON skeleton to standard output without sending an API request. If provided with no value or the value input
, prints a sample input JSON that can be used as an argument for --cli-input-json
. Similarly, if provided yaml-input
it will print a sample input YAML that can be used with --cli-input-yaml
. If provided with the value output
, it validates the command inputs and returns a sample output JSON for that command.
See ‘aws help’ for descriptions of global parameters.
To enable cross-Region automated backups
The following start-db-instance-automated-backups-replication
example replicates automated backups from a DB instance in the US East (N. Virginia) Region to US West (Oregon). The backup retention period is 14 days.
aws rds start-db-instance-automated-backups-replication \
--region us-west-2 \
--source-db-instance-arn "arn:aws:rds:us-east-1:123456789012:db:new-orcl-db" \
--backup-retention-period 14
