Returns Lambda function recommendations.
Compute Optimizer generates recommendations for functions that meet a specific set of requirements. For more information, see the Supported resources and requirements in the Compute Optimizer User Guide .

get-lambda-function-recommendations
is a paginated operation. Multiple API calls may be issued in order to retrieve the entire data set of results. You can disable pagination by providing the --no-paginate
argument.
When using --output text
and the --query
argument on a paginated response, the --query

The Amazon Resource Name (ARN) of the functions for which to return recommendations.
You can specify a qualified or unqualified ARN. If you specify an unqualified ARN without a function version suffix, Compute Optimizer will return recommendations for the latest (
$LATEST
) version of the function. If you specify a qualified ARN with a version suffix, Compute Optimizer will return recommendations for the specified function version. For more information about using function versions, see Using versions in the Lambda Developer Guide .(string)

The ID of the Amazon Web Services account for which to return function recommendations.
If your account is the management account of an organization, use this parameter to specify the member account for which you want to return function recommendations.
Only one account ID can be specified per request.

An array of objects to specify a filter that returns a more specific list of function recommendations.

Describes a filter that returns a more specific list of Lambda function recommendations. Use this filter with the GetLambdaFunctionRecommendations action.

is a key and value combination of a tag assigned to your Lambda function recommendations. Use the tag key in the filter name and the tag value as the filter value. For example, to find all Lambda function recommendations that have a tag with the key ofOwner
and the value ofTeamA

is the key of a tag assigned to your Lambda function recommendations. Use this filter to find all of your Lambda function recommendations that have a tag with a specific key. This doesn’t consider the tag value. For example, you can find your Lambda function recommendations with a tag key value ofOwner

--cli-input-json

Reads arguments from the JSON string provided. The JSON string follows the format provided by --generate-cli-skeleton
. If other arguments are provided on the command line, those values will override the JSON-provided values. It is not possible to pass arbitrary binary values using a JSON-provided value as the string will be taken literally. This may not be specified along with --cli-input-yaml
.
--starting-token
(string)
A token to specify where to start paginating. This is the
NextToken
from a previously truncated response.For usage examples, see Pagination in the AWS Command Line Interface User Guide .
--page-size
(integer)
The size of each page to get in the AWS service call. This does not affect the number of items returned in the command’s output. Setting a smaller page size results in more calls to the AWS service, retrieving fewer items in each call. This can help prevent the AWS service calls from timing out.

--max-items
(integer)
The total number of items to return in the command’s output. If the total number of items available is more than the value specified, a
NextToken
is provided in the command’s output. To resume pagination, provide theNextToken
value in thestarting-token
argument of a subsequent command. Do not use theNextToken
response element directly outside of the AWS CLI.For usage examples, see Pagination in the AWS Command Line Interface User Guide .
--generate-cli-skeleton
(string)
Prints a JSON skeleton to standard output without sending an API request. If provided with no value or the value input
, prints a sample input JSON that can be used as an argument for --cli-input-json
. Similarly, if provided yaml-input
it will print a sample input YAML that can be used with --cli-input-yaml
. If provided with the value output
, it validates the command inputs and returns a sample output JSON for that command. The generated JSON skeleton is not stable between versions of the AWS CLI and there are no backwards compatibility guarantees in the JSON skeleton generated.
--debug
(boolean)
Turn on debug logging.
--endpoint-url
(string)
Override command’s default URL with the given URL.
--no-verify-ssl
(boolean)
By default, the AWS CLI uses SSL when communicating with AWS services. For each SSL connection, the AWS CLI will verify SSL certificates. This option overrides the default behavior of verifying SSL certificates.
--no-paginate
(boolean)
Disable automatic pagination. If automatic pagination is disabled, the AWS CLI will only make one call, for the first page of results.
--output
(string)
The formatting style for command output.
--query
(string)
A JMESPath query to use in filtering the response data.
--profile
(string)
Use a specific profile from your credential file.
--region
(string)
The region to use. Overrides config/env settings.
--version
(string)
Display the version of this tool.
--color
(string)
Turn on/off color output.
--no-sign-request
(boolean)
Do not sign requests. Credentials will not be loaded if this argument is provided.
--ca-bundle
(string)
The CA certificate bundle to use when verifying SSL certificates. Overrides config/env settings.
--cli-read-timeout
(int)
The maximum socket read time in seconds. If the value is set to 0, the socket read will be blocking and not timeout. The default value is 60 seconds.
--cli-connect-timeout
(int)
The maximum socket connect time in seconds. If the value is set to 0, the socket connect will be blocking and not timeout. The default value is 60 seconds.
--cli-binary-format
(string)
The formatting style to be used for binary blobs. The default format is base64. The base64 format expects binary blobs to be provided as a base64 encoded string. The raw-in-base64-out format preserves compatibility with AWS CLI V1 behavior and binary values must be passed literally. When providing contents from a file that map to a binary blob fileb://
will always be treated as binary and use the file contents directly regardless of the cli-binary-format
setting. When using file://
the file contents will need to properly formatted for the configured cli-binary-format
.
--no-cli-pager
(boolean)
Disable cli pager for output.
--cli-auto-prompt
(boolean)
Automatically prompt for CLI input parameters.
--no-cli-auto-prompt

nextToken -> (string)
The token to use to advance to the next page of function recommendations.
This value is null when there are no more pages of function recommendations to return.

The Compute Optimizer API, Command Line Interface (CLI), and SDKs return utilization metrics using only the
Maximum
statistic, which is the highest value observed during the specified period.The Compute Optimizer console displays graphs for some utilization metrics using the
Average
statistic, which is the value ofSum
/SampleCount

Findings for functions include:
- **
Optimized
** — The function is correctly provisioned to run your workload based on its current configuration and its utilization history. This finding classification does not include finding reason codes.- **
NotOptimized
** — The function is performing at a higher level (over-provisioned) or at a lower level (under-provisioned) than required for your workload because its current configuration is not optimal. Over-provisioned resources might lead to unnecessary infrastructure cost, and under-provisioned resources might lead to poor application performance. This finding classification can include theMemoryUnderprovisioned
andMemoryUnderprovisioned
finding reason codes.- **
Unavailable
** — Compute Optimizer was unable to generate a recommendation for the function. This could be because the function has not accumulated sufficient metric data, or the function does not qualify for a recommendation. This finding classification can include theInsufficientData
andInconclusive
finding reason codes.Note

** — The function is over-provisioned when its memory configuration can be sized down while still meeting the performance requirements of your workload. An over-provisioned function might lead to unnecessary infrastructure cost. This finding reason code is part of theNotOptimized
finding classification.- **
MemoryUnderprovisioned
** — The function is under-provisioned when its memory configuration doesn’t meet the performance requirements of the workload. An under-provisioned function might lead to poor application performance. This finding reason code is part of theNotOptimized
finding classification.- **
InsufficientData
** — The function does not have sufficient metric data for Compute Optimizer to generate a recommendation. For more information, see the Supported resources and requirements in the Compute Optimizer User Guide . This finding reason code is part of theUnavailable
finding classification.- **
Inconclusive
** — The function does not qualify for a recommendation because Compute Optimizer cannot generate a recommendation with a high degree of confidence. This finding reason code is part of theUnavailable
