associate-vpc-cidr-block

Description

Associates a CIDR block with your VPC. You can associate a secondary IPv4 CIDR block, an Amazon-provided IPv6 CIDR block, or an IPv6 CIDR block from an IPv6 address pool that you provisioned through bring your own IP addresses (BYOIP ).

You must specify one of the following in the request: an IPv4 CIDR block, an IPv6 pool, or an Amazon-provided IPv6 CIDR block.

Options

--cidr-block (string)

An IPv4 CIDR block to associate with the VPC.

--ipv6-cidr-block-network-border-group (string)

The name of the location from which we advertise the IPV6 CIDR block. Use this parameter to limit the CIDR block to this location.

You must set AmazonProvidedIpv6CidrBlock to true to use this parameter.

You can have one IPv6 CIDR block association per network border group.

--ipv6-pool (string)

The ID of an IPv6 address pool from which to allocate the IPv6 CIDR block.

--ipv6-cidr-block (string)

An IPv6 CIDR block from the IPv6 address pool. You must also specify Ipv6Pool in the request.

To let Amazon choose the IPv6 CIDR block for you, omit this parameter.

--ipv4-ipam-pool-id (string)

Associate a CIDR allocated from an IPv4 IPAM pool to a VPC. For more information about Amazon VPC IP Address Manager (IPAM), see What is IPAM? in the Amazon VPC IPAM User Guide .

--ipv4-netmask-length (integer)

The netmask length of the IPv4 CIDR you would like to associate from an Amazon VPC IP Address Manager (IPAM) pool. For more information about IPAM, see What is IPAM? in the Amazon VPC IPAM User Guide .

--ipv6-ipam-pool-id (string)

Associates a CIDR allocated from an IPv6 IPAM pool to a VPC. For more information about Amazon VPC IP Address Manager (IPAM), see What is IPAM? in the Amazon VPC IPAM User Guide .

--ipv6-netmask-length (integer)

The netmask length of the IPv6 CIDR you would like to associate from an Amazon VPC IP Address Manager (IPAM) pool. For more information about IPAM, see What is IPAM? in the Amazon VPC IPAM User Guide .

--vpc-id (string)

The ID of the VPC.

--amazon-provided-ipv6-cidr-block | --no-amazon-provided-ipv6-cidr-block (boolean)

Requests an Amazon-provided IPv6 CIDR block with a /56 prefix length for the VPC. You cannot specify the range of IPv6 addresses or the size of the CIDR block.

--cli-input-json | --cli-input-yaml (string) Reads arguments from the JSON string provided. The JSON string follows the format provided by --generate-cli-skeleton. If other arguments are provided on the command line, those values will override the JSON-provided values. It is not possible to pass arbitrary binary values using a JSON-provided value as the string will be taken literally. This may not be specified along with --cli-input-yaml.

--generate-cli-skeleton (string) Prints a JSON skeleton to standard output without sending an API request. If provided with no value or the value input, prints a sample input JSON that can be used as an argument for --cli-input-json. Similarly, if provided yaml-input it will print a sample input YAML that can be used with --cli-input-yaml. If provided with the value output, it validates the command inputs and returns a sample output JSON for that command. The generated JSON skeleton is not stable between versions of the AWS CLI and there are no backwards compatibility guarantees in the JSON skeleton generated.

Global Options

--debug (boolean)

Turn on debug logging.

--endpoint-url (string)

Override command’s default URL with the given URL.

--no-verify-ssl (boolean)

By default, the AWS CLI uses SSL when communicating with AWS services. For each SSL connection, the AWS CLI will verify SSL certificates. This option overrides the default behavior of verifying SSL certificates.

--no-paginate (boolean)

Disable automatic pagination. If automatic pagination is disabled, the AWS CLI will only make one call, for the first page of results.

--output (string)

The formatting style for command output.

--query (string)

A JMESPath query to use in filtering the response data.

--profile (string)

Use a specific profile from your credential file.

--region (string)

The region to use. Overrides config/env settings.

--version (string)

Display the version of this tool.

--color (string)

Turn on/off color output.

--no-sign-request (boolean)

Do not sign requests. Credentials will not be loaded if this argument is provided.

--ca-bundle (string)

The CA certificate bundle to use when verifying SSL certificates. Overrides config/env settings.

--cli-read-timeout (int)

The maximum socket read time in seconds. If the value is set to 0, the socket read will be blocking and not timeout. The default value is 60 seconds.

--cli-connect-timeout (int)

The maximum socket connect time in seconds. If the value is set to 0, the socket connect will be blocking and not timeout. The default value is 60 seconds.

--cli-binary-format (string)

The formatting style to be used for binary blobs. The default format is base64. The base64 format expects binary blobs to be provided as a base64 encoded string. The raw-in-base64-out format preserves compatibility with AWS CLI V1 behavior and binary values must be passed literally. When providing contents from a file that map to a binary blob fileb:// will always be treated as binary and use the file contents directly regardless of the cli-binary-format setting. When using file:// the file contents will need to properly formatted for the configured cli-binary-format.

--cli-auto-prompt (boolean)

Automatically prompt for CLI input parameters.

Example 1: To associate an Amazon-provided IPv6 CIDR block with a VPC

The following associate-vpc-cidr-block example associates an IPv6 CIDR block with the specified VPC.:

AssociationId -> (string)

The association ID for the IPv6 CIDR block.

Ipv6CidrBlock -> (string)

The IPv6 CIDR block.

Ipv6CidrBlockState -> (structure)

Information about the state of the CIDR block.

State -> (string)

The state of the CIDR block.

StatusMessage -> (string)

A message about the status of the CIDR block, if applicable.

NetworkBorderGroup -> (string)

The name of the unique set of Availability Zones, Local Zones, or Wavelength Zones from which Amazon Web Services advertises IP addresses, for example, us-east-1-wl1-bos-wlz-1 .

Ipv6Pool -> (string)

The ID of the IPv6 address pool from which the IPv6 CIDR block is allocated.

Ipv6AddressAttribute -> (string)

Public IPv6 addresses are those advertised on the internet from Amazon Web Services. Private IP addresses are not and cannot be advertised on the internet from Amazon Web Services.

IpSource -> (string)

The source that allocated the IP address space. byoip or amazon indicates public IP address space allocated by Amazon or space that you have allocated with Bring your own IP (BYOIP). none indicates private space.

CidrBlockAssociation -> (structure)

Information about the IPv4 CIDR block association.

AssociationId -> (string)

The association ID for the IPv4 CIDR block.

CidrBlock -> (string)

The IPv4 CIDR block.

CidrBlockState -> (structure)

Information about the state of the CIDR block.

State -> (string)

The state of the CIDR block.

StatusMessage -> (string)

A message about the status of the CIDR block, if applicable.

VpcId -> (string)

The ID of the VPC.
